With just over three minutes remaining in regulation, Cook took a pass from Reilly and flipped a behind-the-back-shot just inside the right goal post for the game-winning goal.

Siena opened the scoring at the 10:20 mark of the first quarter. Reilly fired a transition shot past Dougherty. Reilly's first goal of the season was a man-down goal.

Hobart scored the game's next two goals, two minutes apart. Archer scored his first collegiate goal off a feed from fellow first-year Tommy Mott. The goal was a man-up goal. Siena went on a seven-goal run, starting at 3:47 mark of the first quarter. Cook's first goal of the game started the run. A little over a minute later, Luke Van Schepen, a long poll defender, pocketed his first goal of the season on another transition goal. Tebbano stopped a Justin Scott shot. Van Schepen picked up the ground ball, ran 80 yards and fired a shot past Dougherty.

Reilly pocketed his second goal of the game seven seconds later off a feed from Jake Shapiro. Chris Robertson scored the Saints next two goals, 60 seconds apart, with a pair of unassisted goals.

Hobart broke up Siena's run with a four-goal run of its own. Holden scored back-to-back goals to complete his first collegiate hat trick. Archer scored the final goal of the first half with a goal from right in front of the Saints goal. Mason Burr curled in front and hit Archer right on the doorstep.

Senior J. Andrew Spallanzani cut the Statesmen deficit to two with his first goal of the season at 11:48 of the third quarter. After forcing a turnover in midfield, Holden hit Spallanzani right in front of the goal and Spallanzani fired the shot past Tebbano.
