GENEVA, N.Y.-The William Smith College tennis team defeated Hamilton 6-3 in non-conference action in Bristol Field House this afternoon. With the win, the Herons are now 9-5 overall on the season and have concluded the non-conference portion of their schedule.

Dina Rigas defeated Jane Haffer and Sophia Aulicino 8-5 in the top spot. With the win, Denton and Rigas are now 10-7 on the year with an 8-5 record in the No. 1 spot. Junior
Alex Greenberg and first-year
Katelyn Nguyen cruised to an 8-2 victory at No. 3. Sophomore
Kate Foley and first-year
Charlotte Engebrecht closed out doubles play with an 8-7 (7-2) win in the second spot.

The two teams split the six singles matches. Hamilton (3-8) won matches in the top three spots while the Herons won at Nos. 4-6. Greenberg and sophomore
Leland Barclay each lost only one game at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively. Greenberg defeated Katherine McNally 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 for her seventh win of the season. She is a team best 3-1 in the No. 5 position. Barclay posted her team-leading 13th win of the season, topping Stefanie Chin 6-0, 6-1. Rigas bested Ndanu Mutisya 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 to improve to 8-8 on the season.

William Smith will be back in action this weekend, April 21-22, when it hosts Union and Bard for a pair of Liberty League matches.
