GENESEO, N.Y.-The Geneseo men's soccer team used a second half goal to knock off Hobart 1-0 in non-conference action at College Stadium this afternoon. The Statesmen are now 1-3-1 on the season while the Knights improve to 2-2-2 on the year.

Austin DeRidder scored the game's lone goal off of a set piece in the 65th minute. Greg Baumstein's initial shot was blocked by a Hobart player. DeRidder picked up the loose ball and shot it into the lower right side of the net.

Hobart had scoring opportunities but it could not put the ball past Liam Dole, who made five stops in goal for the Knights. Dole's biggest save of the game came in the 22nd minute when he stopped a
Sam Farman penalty kick.

Alec Kaminer played all 90 minutes in goal for the Statesmen, making four saves.

Hobart finished the game with a 16-10 edge in shots and earned 11 corner kicks to just one for the Knights.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when they travel to Cortland, N.Y. The game against the Red Dragons is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
