HENNIKER, N.H.-The Hobart College hockey team erased a three goal deficit as it skated to a 4-4 tie with New England College in a New England Hockey Conference contest at Lee Clement Arena this evening. The Statesmen are now 13-6-1 overall and 7-5-1 in the NEHC.

First-year Zach Tyson (1g, 2a) led the way for Hobart recording a game-high three points. Fellow first-year Aaron Maguyon scored twice as he notched his second consecutive multi-goal game. First-year Liam Lascelle made 22 saves in 65 minutes of action. Carlos Fornaris finished with a game-high three assists for the Pilgrims (12-3-5, 6-3-5). Connor Fries had a pair of goals and Nikita Pintusov added a goal and an assist. Anthony Pupplo made 41 saves in 65 minutes of action for New England College.

Fries opened the scoring with his first goal of the game at the 18:32 mark of the first period. His 15th goal of the season was assisted by Fornaris and Chris Marafea. Fries collected a loose puck in the slot and poked it across the goal line. Eighty-three seconds later, CJ Valerian gave New England College a 2-0 lead. Mike Whitehair and Connor Inger added assists on Valerian's first goal of the season. Inger's shot from the point was turned aside by Lascelle. Valerian picked up the loose puck and fired home a shot from the left faceoff circle.

Pintusov extended the Pilgrims' lead to 3-0 just under 10 minutes into the second period. Fornaris was credited with an assist on Pintusov's 12th goal of the season. Pintusov wristed a shot from the slot into the upper corner of the net.

Tyson started Hobart's comeback just under two minutes later. His fourth goal of the season was assisted by seniors Jack Macnee and Matt Pizzo. Pizzo's shot from the point was stopped by Pupplo. Tyson collected the loose puck and tucked it across the goal line. Four minutes later Maguyon collected his first goal of the game to make it 3-2.  His eighth goal of the season was assisted by sophomore Mike Faulkner and Tyson.

New England College regained a two goal lead on Fries' second goal of the game. He wristed a shot from the slot past Lascelle for his 16th goal of the season. Fornaris and Pintusov were credited with assists on the goal.

The Statesmen tied the game with a pair of goals 16 seconds apart. Junior Will Harrison's seventh goal of the season at the 10:20 mark made it a one goal game. He banged home a rebound from directly in front of the goal. Seniors Brandon Bistodeau and Tanner Shaw were credited with assists on the goal. Maguyon added the equalizer 16 seconds later. The Statesmen broke into the offensive zone right off the faceoff. Maguyon one-timed a Tyson cross ice pass for his ninth goal of the season. Sophomore Mitchell Spring added an assist on the goal. The Statesmen continued to apply pressure in the third period but could not find the game-winning goal. Hobart outshot the Pilgrims 20-8 in the third period.

Sophomore TJ Schultz had Hobart's best scoring opportunity of the overtime period but his shot from the point just missed high over the crossbar.
