Mohamed Abdelhafez picked up a pair of victories in the No. 1 spot as the Statesmen took on a pair of nationally ranked opponents at Mount Holyoke College. The Statesmen, who were ranked 27th in the latest College Squash Association, were defeated by 20th-ranked Bates 7-2 and 24th-ranked Tufts 8-1 this afternoon.

In today's first match against the Bobcats, Abdelhafez defeated Graham Bonnell 11-6, 11-3, 11-5 in the top spot. Sophomore
Quinn Udy followed that up with a win over Mahmoud Yousry in the No. 2 spot. Udy won 11-6, 12-10, 14-16, 8-11, 11-7. The win was Udy's fourth win of the season. Bates won five of their seven points by the score of 3-0.

Against the Jumbos, Abdelhafez defeated Raghav Kumar 11-7, 11-9, 12-10. With the two wins,
Mohamed Abdelhafez is now a team best 8-5 this season. Tufts won 3-0 in Nos. 3-9.

Hobart will be back in action next weekend, Feb. 2-3, when it travels to Canton, N.Y., for the 2019 Liberty League Championships.
