GENEVA, N.Y.-The second-ranked William Smith College soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 1-0 victory over St. Lawrence in a Liberty League contest on McAllaster Field this afternoon. With the win, the Herons conclude their regular season with a 14-1-1 overall record and a 9-0-0 mark in Liberty League play.

Julia Keogh notched the game-winning goal in the 86th minute to secure the victory for William Smith. Her third goal of the season was assisted by junior
Amanda Adams. Keogh one-touched a crossing pass from Adams into the lower right corner of the cage.
William Smith controlled the game right from the opening whistle. The Herons outshot St. Lawrence 13-1 in the first half. Keogh had the game's first chance in the fourth minute, but her shot was stopped by Samantha Allen. First-year
Katrine Berg rang a shot off the crossbar in the 36th minute. Allen made seven saves in the opening 45 minutes.
The Herons kept the pressure on after halftime, enjoying an 8-3 shooting edge. SLU switched goalies at halftime, turning to Cynnie White after the break. The junior was tested three times in the first 15 minutes, but she was able to keep the Herons scoreless.

Amanda Kesler made three saves to earn her ninth shutout of the season. As a team, the Herons' 12th shutout of the year also marked the the team's 10th consecutive victory.
With the win, William Smith completed its sixth undefeated Liberty League regular season in the past seven years.
The Herons will host the Liberty League Tournament semifinals and championship on Nov. 9-10. William Smith will face the winner of No. 5 RPI at No. 4 St. Lawrence in the first semifinal at 11 a.m. The Engineers will travel to face the Saints on Tuesday, Nov. 5. RIT is the No. 2 seed and will take on the winner of No. 6 Union at No. 3 Vassar. The second semifinal will start at 1:30 p.m.
