ITHACA, N.Y. —The Hobart College rowing team completed its fall season at the Cornell Fall Invitational yesterday. The Statesmen competed against Cornell, Syracuse, Mercyhurst, Colgate, RIT, and Ithaca.
Hobart competed in pairs, fours and eights on the Cayuga Lake Inlet. The Cornell Fall classic combines a 3000 meter race with a 300 meter super sprint time multiplied by three.
In the men's pairs, Hobart had two entries. The Statesmen's top pair of senior

Jackson Baney powered down the 3000 meter course in 10:26.9, finishing fifth. In the 300 meter sprint, the Statesmen crossed the finish line first with a time of 1:01.7. Senior

Lukian Maratovic were Hobart's second entry. Krimmel and Maratovic finished the 3000 meter race in 10:47.1, placing ninth. On the return sprint, they stopped the clock at 1:07.1 in ninth place.

Miles Cornman stopped the clock at 9:03.3, finishing first in the 3000 meter race in the men's 8+. In the 300 meter sprint the Statesmen clocked in at 55.3 seconds, with a third place finish.
"The freshman were impressive in their debut," said Head Coach
Paul Bugenhagen. Our older oarsman showcased very good depth against regional powers. We had a very solid fall racing campaign and will transition into the winter months with great energy and enthusiasm."
Hobart has completed its fall season. The Statesmen will return to the water in 2020.
