HENNIKER, N.H.-The third-ranked Hobart College hockey team was edged by No. 15 New England College 4-3 in a New England Hockey Conference contest at the Lee Clement Ice Arena this evening. The Statesmen are now 6-2-1 overall this season and 3-2-0 in conference play.

Alec Robitaille had a team-high two points on a goal and an assist for Hobart. Junior
Ryan Lynch and sophomore
Aaron Maguyon also scored. Sophomore
Joe Halstrom made 19 saves in just over 58 minutes of action.

Connor Inger (2a) and Ryan Walsh (2g) had two points each for New England College (7-2-1, 6-1-0). Anthony Pupplo made 37 saves as he notched his seventh win of the season.

Hobart controlled the opening period, outshooting the Pilgrims 13-7. Maguyon opened the scoring at the 17:37 mark of the period. He redirected a
Zach Tyson shot past Pupplo for his third goal of the season.
Mitchell Spring collected the secondary assist on the power-play goal. Two minutes later, Lynch pocketed his second goal of the season. He wristed a shot from the slot into the back of the net. Junior
Mike Faulkner and Robitaille were awarded assists on the goal.

New England College came out of the first intermission and quickly tied the game. Just under two minutes into the second period, Walsh raced down the left wing and tucked a shot between Halstrom's right leg and the goal post. His second goal of the season was assisted by Pupplo. Ninety-three seconds later, Nikita Pintusov tied the game with his 15th goal of the season. He one-timed a shot from the left faceoff circle into the back of the net. Daniel Bergqvist and Carlos Fornaris were credited with assists on the goal. New England College took a 3-2 lead on Walsh's second goal of the game. He fired a shot from past Halstrom. Inger and Nicholas Rein were credited with assists.

Hobart tied the game just over a minute into the third period. Robitaille wristed a shot from the slot past Pupplo.
TJ Schultz and
PA Martineau notched assists on Robitaille's fourth goal of the season.

Trevor Momot scored the game-winning goal at the 9:26 mark of the third period. His sixth goal of the season was assisted by Inger.

Hobart finished the game with a 40-23 advantage in shots on goal. The Statesmen were 1-for-4 on the power play while the Pilgrims were 0-for-4.

Hobart will be back in action tomorrow afternoon, Dec. 7, when it travels to take on Southern Maine. Faceoff in Portland is scheduled for 4 p.m.
