NEW LONDON, CONN.—The William Smith hockey team fell to Connecticut College 5-0 this evening. The Herons fall to 7-3-0 on the season and the Camels improve to 5-3-0.

Olivia Williams made 26 saves in 40 minutes, and sophomore
Amanda Aalto stopped two shots in the third period.
Ashley Carbone (2g, 1a) led Connecticut College with three points. Sammi Estes (1g, 1a), Lauren Helm (2a), and Erin Dillion (2a) each tallied two points for the Camels. Carly Denora made 16 saves for the shutout.
Connecticut College recorded their first goal at the 6:30 mark in the first period when Estes assisted Erin Healy. The Camels continued to pressure Williams, and Natalie Witkowski was able to slip one by her. Mairi Anthony was credited with the assist. The Herons reversed the momentum, and got four shots off. Mia LaPlante had the Herons' best scoring chance when her shot went off the left pipe with three minutes left in the period.
Connecticut College added three more goals in the second period. Carbone notched a goal eight minutes in, with the assists going to Dillon and Helm. The Camels scored their next two goals on the power-play. Carbone scored Connecticut College's fourth goal. Kylie Wilkes and Helm were credited with the assists. Estes capitalized on the Camels' final power-play, firing a shot past Williams. Dillon and Carbone collected the assists.
The Herons started off the third period with a power-play, getting two shots off. William Smith continued to pressure the Camels, but were unable to get a shot past Denora.
Connecticut College finished with a 33-16 advantage in shots on goal. The Camels took advantage of their power-play opportunities, going 2-for-3 with the extra skater. William Smith was 0-for-3 on the power-play.
The Herons will be back in action tomorrow, Dec. 7, for another game with Connecticut College. Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m in New London, Conn.
