Orlando, Fla.—The William Smith College tennis team defeated Pacific University 8-1 this afternoon. The Herons are now 3-2 overall.

Maggie Bonomo and sophomore
Dina Rigas bested Chantelle Baclay and Marissa Hayashi 8-6 at No. 1. Juniors
Allie Perron and
Kate Foley tallied a win over Sophia Nishimura and Halie Chang 8-2. Sophomores
Katelyn Nguyen and
Charlotte Engebrecht defeated Adrienne Powell and Johanna Wilson 8-3.
William Smith clinched the match in singles play. Perron bested Baclay 7-6, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 1. Bonomo notched a point 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) at No 2. Foley won her fourth straight singles match 6-4, 6-2. Rigas bested Wilson 6-3, 6-3, at No. 4. Junior
Leland Barclay defeated Hayashi 6-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). Barclay is now 9-3 overall this season. Junior
Morgan Hamre swept Taylor Smallwood 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 spot.
William Smith will be back in action Sunday, March 24, when it welcomes Oneonta to Bristol Field House. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
