ITHACA, N.Y. — The Hobart College tennis team defeated Ithaca 8-1 tonight. The Statesmen are now 6-2 overall.
In the latest Oracle/ITA Division III Northeast Regional Rankings, Junior
Alan Dubrovsky is ranked fifth. Dubrovsky and Sophomore
Walker Anderson are ranked fifth in the doubles team rankings. The Statesmen are 13th in the Northeast and 36th nationally.
Hobart was leading 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles play. Dubrovsky and Walker bested Minos Stavrakas and Colten Lavery 8-2 in the No. 1 spot. Junior

Jack Ledford notched a win at No. 3 over Sam McGrath and Liam Spiegel 8-5. Senior

Thomas Shung fell to Michael Gardiner and Max Prestwich 4-8 in the No. 2 spot.
Anderson clinched the match for the Statesmen besting Gardiner 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3. Dubrovsky tallied the first point in singles play 6-1, 6-2 over Stavrakas at No. 1. Ledford bested Lavery 7-5, 6-2 in the No. 4 spot. Shung defeated Sam Fried 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5. Atwater forced a third set in the No. 2 spot besting McGrath 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 10-4. Molloy tallied a point at No. 6 over Prestwich 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.
The Statesmen will be back in action Saturday, March 30, when they travel to Rochester for a neutral site match. Hobart will face Case Western Reserve University. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
