GENEVA, N.Y. — The William Smith College tennis team defeated St. Lawrence University 5-4 this afternoon inside Bristol Field House. The Herons are now 12-6 overall and 6-2 in the Liberty League.

Maggie Bonomo defeated Katherine Apt and Caroline Reilly 8-5 at No. 1. Juniors
Allie Perron and
Kate Foley notched a win at No. 2 over Christina Ryan and Grace van Tartwijk 8-5. Foley and Perron are 14-4 in the No. 2 spot this season. Sophomores
Charlotte Engebrecht and
Katelyn Nguyen fell to Maddie Nasch and Carly Jefferson 8-6 in the No. 3 spot.
The Herons clinched the match in singles play. Perron fell to Reilly 7-6, 7-5 in the No. 1 spot. Bonomo bested Apt 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 2 spot. Bonomo is 13-4 in the No. 2 spot this season. Foley fell to Ryan 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3. Rigas fell to van Tartwijk 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot. Junior
Leland Barclay defeated Nasch 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 at No. 5. Senior
Alex Greenberg tallied a win at No. 6 over Jefferson 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
William Smith will be back in action Tuesday, April 30, when it hosts Cortland at the HWS Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
