ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— The William Smith College tennis team defeated Bard 8-1 this afternoon. The Herons are now 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the Liberty League.

Maggie Bonomo and sophomore
Dina Rigas bested Katie Esposito and Jamie-Rose Graham 8-4 in the No. 1 spot. Juniors
Kate Foley and
Allie Perron notched a win at No. 2 over Eva Grunblatt and Harper Zacharias 8-0 in the No. 2 spot. Sophomores
Charlotte Engebrecht and
Katelyn Nguyen also notched a win 8-0 besting Ayanna Battle and Tori Bowen at No. 3. Engebrecht and Nguyen are a team best 10-3 in doubles play this season.
The Herons clinched the match in singles play. Bonomo swept Esposito 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1. Rigas fell to Graham 2-6, 5-7 in the No. 2 spot. Junior
Leland Barclay bested Zacharias 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3. Senior
Alex Greenberg, Nguyen, and junior
Morgan Hamre swept Bard 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 4, 5, and 6 respectively.
William Smith will be back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 7, when they travel to Schenectady, N.Y. to take on Union. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
