The William Smith College tennis team will compete in the 2019 Liberty League Tournament this weekend, May 3-5, in Ithaca, N.Y. The matches will take place at the Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.
 
The Herons wrapped up the regular season 13-6 overall and 6-2 in the Liberty League. William Smith earned the third seed in the tournament and will face sixth-seeded Ithaca (3-13, 3-5) Friday, May 3 at 11:30 a.m. in Friday's first round match up. Fourth-seeded RIT (12-5,5-3) will take on fifth seeded St. Lawrence (9-7,4-4) in Friday's other first round matchup at 8:30 a.m.
 
Top seeded Skidmore and second seed Vassar earned a first round bye. On Saturday, the 16th-ranked Thoroughbreds will take on the winner of the RIT/St. Lawrence match at 8:45 a.m.  The Brewers will face the winner of the William Smith/Ithaca match at 11:30 a.m.
 
First-year 
Maggie Bonomo is a team best 21-6 overall in singles play. Bonomo is 14-4 in the No. 2 spot and 6-2 in Liberty League play. Junior 
Leland Barclay is 17-8 overall in singles play and 9-2 in the No. 5 spot. Junior 
Allie Perron is 9-9 in the No. 1 spot. Perron and junior 
Kate Foley are14-4 in doubles play at No. 2. They are 7-1 in Liberty League play and 8-2 in their last ten matches.
 
Brianna Ruback leads the Bombers with an 11-9 record in singles play and is 7-6 in the No. 1 spot. Ruback is 4-4 in Liberty League play. Perron defeated Ruback 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot earlier this year. Caroline Dunn and Kathryn Shaffer are 5-8 in the No. 1 spot in doubles play and 5-3 in the Liberty League.
