William Smith College sophomores Molly Dexter and Taryn Wenberg were named to the 2019 Women's Rowing All-Liberty League team.
 
Rowing as the stern pair, Dexter and Wenberg guided William Smith's varsity eight to a silver medal at the Liberty League Championships. They powered the Herons to a ninth place finish at the National Invitational Rowing Championships. In the fall, the varsity eight finished third at the Head of the Genesee and seventh at the Head of the Fish.
 
"A representation of our entire team, Molly and Taryn exemplify many of the qualities which make William Smith Rowing strong and successful," Head Coach Sandra Chu said. "Both have a strong work ethic that they demonstrate year round. They push themselves on the water, on land and in the classroom to achieve their personal bests each day. As the stern pair, they led with a fiery determination to find every iota of speed they could. Like their teammates, these two Herons used all their tools to put the team before self and we are grateful for their leadership."
 
A Liberty League All-Academic selection, Dexter is a two-year member of the varsity eight. She opened the season winning races in the varsity four and varsity eight at the Challenge on the Canal. Dexter helped William Smith finish 16th at the Head of the Charles Regatta. As a first-year, she also grabbed a silver medal at the Liberty League Championships. Last year, she secured a bronze medal at the New York State Championships and finished eighth at the NIRC.
 
Wenberg has also competed in the varsity eight in each of her first two seasons. This season, she helped the Herons finish 16th at the Head of the Charles.  As a first-year, she won a silver medal at the Liberty League Championships. Wenberg helped the varsity eight bring home a bronze medal at the New York State Championships. She also spent time in the second varsity eight and novice eight as a first-year.
 
William Smith was ranked ninth in the latest Division III USRowing/CRCA poll.
