Statesmen fall to Continentals

CLINTON, N.Y. —The No. 35 Hobart College squash team fell to No. 28 Hamilton 7-2 this afternoon.
 
Junior Quinn Udy and sophomore Mo Abdelhafez won matches for the Statesmen. Udy earned a victory at No. 1 in five games. He defeated Tate Surratt 11-5, 9-11, 11-4, 6-11, 11-9. Abdelhafez collected a win at No. 3 in three games. He downed Rufus Somerby 11-9, 11-9, 12-10. First-year Giacomo Dalle Molle fell at No. 2 to Callum Sondhi. In the No. 4 spot, first-year James Mazzarelli lost in four games to Tristan Chaix 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-7. Sophomores Cameron Temoyan and Eric Molina lost in four games at Nos. 5 and 6 respectively. Hamilton won Nos. 7-9 in three games.
 
The Statesmen will be back in action next Saturday, February 8, when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. for the Liberty League Squash Championship. Hobart will open up the championship with a match against St. Lawrence at 11 a.m.
