GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College tennis team fell in a Liberty League match to No. 17 Skidmore 9-0 this afternoon inside Bristol Field House.
In doubles play, seniors
Allie Perron and
Kate Foley fell 8-3 to Rise Fukushige and Maya Lal in the No. 1 spot. At No. 2, juniors
Charlotte Engebrecht and
Katelyn Nguyen lost 8-3 to Lily Feldman and Sofia Carlsson. Sophomore
Maggie Bonomo and senior
Morgan Hamre were defeated by Audrey Soohoo and Chantel Thongphok 8-5 at No. 3.
In singles play, Bonomo fell to No. 32 Fukushige 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. Perron lost to Lal 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2. Foley fell in straight sets to Feldman at No. 3. Senior
Leland Barclay was downed by Thongphok 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 4 spot. Soohoo blanked Nguyen at No. 5, and Engebrecht lost to Jessica Ampel 6-2, 6-3, in the No. 6 spot.
The Herons will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 29, when they travel to Oberlin for a match at 2 p.m.
