GENEVA, N.Y.—A hot-shooting second half powered the SUNY Brockport basketball team past Hobart College 77-53 in Bristol Gym tonight. The Golden Eagles connected on 52.9% from the floor after halftime to improve to 2-1 on the season. The Statesmen slipped to 2-2.

Hobart held the lead for much of the first half. Brockport briefly edged in front 11-9, but the Statesmen countered with a 16-6 run to build their largest lead of the game 25-17. Andrew Lynch scored all nine of his points during the run. The Golden Eagles spent the rest of the half digging out of the hole, going into halftime tied at 30. Brockport opened the second half with eight straight points and maintained the upper hand until the final horn. After trailing by as many as 12, Hobart got within seven on a pair of free throws by Patrick Walker with 6:52 remaining. Walker finished with nine points.

Jahidi Wallace sank two from the other end of the floor to make it a nine-point game. Despite first half foul trouble, he finished the game with nine points.
