CANTON, N.Y. — The William Smith College tennis team was edged by St. Lawrence 6-3 in the Liberty League opener for both teams. With the loss, the Herons are now 0-2 on the season.
The Saints (1-0) took a 2-1 lead in the match after doubles play with 8-3 wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Junior

Audreyanna Camacho dispatched Lillian Sullivan and Catherine Gamble 8-2 in the No. 1 spot.
Bonomo and Camacho also logged William Smith's singles points at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. In the top spot, Bonomo bested Caroline Reilly 6-4, 6-2. Bonomo is now 1-1 on the season in singles matches. Camacho logged her first win as a Heron, besting Gamble 6-3, 6-4. St. Lawrence won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
William Smith will be back in action next Saturday, April 3, when it welcomes Skidmore to the HWS Tennis Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
