ROCHESTER, N.Y.- The Hobart College soccer team was defeated by fourth-ranked Rochester 6-0 in a non-conference contest at Fauver Stadium this evening. The Statesmen are now 3-3-0 on the season.

The Yellowjackets (4-0-1) used an efficient offensive attack to build 4-0 lead in the first half. Rochester scored on three of its first four shots. Nick Swanger scored the game's first two goals in the 11th and the 13th minute, respectively. His first strike was assisted by Santi Ponce Ocampo and Nate Lazzara. Colin Canning's goal in the 21st minute gave the Yellowjackets a three-goal cushion. Matt Cosentino and Caden Dowd notched assists on the tally. Tony Hypser scored Rochester's fourth goal off a feed from Will Eisold and Max Lebbern.

Andrew Moglianesi made it a five-goal game in the 53rd minute. Canning was credited with an assist on the goal. Swanger completed his hat trick with 26 seconds left on the clock. It was his third shot of the game.

Amad Miller had Hobart's best chance in the 71st minute, but Santino Lupica-Tondo made a diving stop.Â

Landon DeCesare-Fousek also had shots stopped by the Rochester goalie.

Guillermo Castaneda Chang each played 45 minutes in goal for the Statesmen. Lupica-Tondo started in goal for Rochester and made three saves in 90 minutes.

Rochester finished the game with a 14-6 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Hobart will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 22, when it welcomes RIT to Cozzens Field. The game, which is the Liberty League opener for both teams, is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
