Hobart’s game at RIT postponed

1/6/2022 5:00:00 PM

The Hobart College basketball team hasn't played since Dec. 4, 2021. The return to the court will have to wait one more day.

The Statesmen were scheduled to end their 34-day holiday break Friday, Jan. 7 at RIT, but that game has been postponed due to COVID protocols within the Tigers' program. The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Hobart (3-6, 0-2) will now make its return to the court Saturday, Jan. 8 at Ithaca (4-4, 1-1). Tipoff in Ben Light Gymnasium is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Spectators are allowed at Ithaca. Inside Ben Light Gymnasium, face coverings are required at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings must be worn correctly covering both mouth and nose.

Fans unable to attend the game in Ithaca can track the action with live video and live stats on athletics.ithaca.edu.

Forward Jackson Meshanic leads the Statesmen in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.2 ppg and 8.6 rpg. Guard Aidan Rodgers is second on the team in scoring at 8.8 ppg while guard Jack Lesure is second on the glass at 5.1 rpg.

Ithaca's lineup features a pair of double-digit scorers. Forward Luka Radovich leads the way with 15.4 ppg while guard Skylar Sinon adds 14.5 ppg. Sinon paces the team's rebounding efforts, collecting 6.6 rpg.

Since the teams first met in 1922, Ithaca leads the all-time series 54-37. Hobart has prevailed in nine of the past 10 meetings with the Bombers, but lost to Ithaca 80-72 in the most recent meeting, during the 2020 Liberty League Tournament semifinals.
