GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College swimming and diving team competed in its first meet in Bristol Pool since the 1993-94 season today. First-year Daniel Barrientos highlighted the Statesmen action, winning two events and breaking Peter Taylor's 1992 school and pool record from the 3-meter board.

Barrientos continued his strong start to the season, scoring a 309.05 on the 3-meter board (six dives) today, breaking the school and pool records previously held by Peter Taylor. He then went on to win the 1-meter diving event with a score of 267.60.

Senior Avi Rajkarnikar saw his first action for the Statesmen this season, taking second place in two events. His time of 26.38 in the men's 50-yard freestyle, and 1:02.28 in the men's 100-yard freestyle were enough for second place finishes in both events.

COACHES CORNER:

"It was a really exciting time at Bristol Pool today," Head coach R.C. Weston said. "We were able to get the Statesmen back in the water and on the boards here for the first time in 27 years and we couldn't be prouder of the building stages of the program. We look forward to getting more guys healthy this week as we prepare for Utica on Friday. Big congratulations to Daniel on his accomplishments today, it's a wonderful start to what we hope is a very successful diving career here at Hobart."
