Hobart College senior forward Jackson Meshanic was named the Liberty League Men's Basketball Co-Performer of the Week by the conference office today. He averaged 23.0 ppg, 12.0 rpg and 4.5 apg while committing just three turnovers in two games last week.
 
On Saturday, Meshanic produced his best game so far this season, recording a career-high matching 34 points, a season-high matching 14 rebounds, and a season-high matching five assists in a 95-67 Liberty League win over Skidmore. He was 11-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-6 from deep, and made all seven of his free throws. On Wednesday, Meshanic logged 12 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in a loss at Brockport. For the week, he shot .577 from the floor, .833 from 3-point range and .846 at the line.
 
Through five games, Meshanic is averaging 18.8 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists, while shooting .574 from the floor, .448 from beyond the arc and .750 at the line. With four straight double doubles, he is second in the nation. Meshanic also ranks among the national leaders in rebounds (11th, 55), rebounds per game (28th) and field goals (39th, 35).
 
Hobart is 3-2 overall and will welcome the University of Rochester (5-0) to Bristol Gym Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 8 p.m. The Yellowjackets were ranked No. 11 in the D3hoops.com preseason Top 25.
 
The game will be the 139th all-time meeting between the Western New York rivals with the Yellowjackets holding a commanding 108-30 series lead. However, the Statesmen have won four in a row in Bristol Gym against the Yellowjackets.
