ORLANDO, Fla.—The William Smith College tennis team was defeated by Trinity, 7-2, in a non-conference contest at the USTA National Campus this afternoon. With the loss, the Herons fall to 2-3 on the season.
The Bantams (2-1) swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead in the match.

Isabelle Goings-Perrot were in the closest match but were edged by Ashley Walker and Josephine Kimball, 8-4.
Trinity clinched the match with four singles wins, three of which came in straight sets.
Audrey Camacho was in a tightly contested match but was edged by Kimball, 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 in the No. 2 spot. The Herons earned wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots in the lineup.
Maggie Bonomo rolled to a straight-set victory in the No. 1 spot. She beat Isabella Hartman, 6-2, 6-4. It was Bonomo's team-leading eighth win of the season. Goings-Perrot rallied to beat Angelina Shyltsna, 2-6, 6-4, 11-9. It was Goings-Perrot's eighth win of the season. She is 8-3 on the year with a 4-1 mark in the No. 3 spot.
The Herons will be back in action tomorrow, March 23, when it takes on Grinnell. The match is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m.
