Maggie Bonomo won twice, but the William Smith College tennis team was defeated by St. Lawrence 7-2 in a Liberty League contest in Newell Field House this afternoon. With the loss, the Herons are now 3-8 overall this season with an 0-2 mark in Liberty League play.

The Saints (7-5, 3-3) took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. St. Lawrence won 8-1 in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots of the lineup. William Smith earned its victory in the No. 1 spot. Bonomo and
Audrey Camacho defeated Lillian Sullivan and Elena Styliades 8-4. Camacho and Bonomo are 8-7 on the season including a 6-5 mark in the No. 1 spot.

Bonomo beat Sullivan for the second time in singles play. In the No. 1 spot, Bonomo won, 6-0, 6-1. It was her team-leading 11th, singles win of the year. Bonomo is 11-8 overall with a 6-5 mark in the No. 1 spot. St. Lawrence won all five of its singles points in straight sets.

William Smith will be back in action tomorrow, April 10, when it welcomes Union to Bristol Field House. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
