Statesmen, Bulldogs to meet again in NEC Tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The Hobart College lacrosse team will make its seventh appearance in the Northeast Conference Championship Tournament when the Statesmen take on the Bryant University Bulldogs in the semifinal round at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 5. Both semifinals and the championship game on Saturday, May 7 will be played on Sweeney Field at Saint Joseph's University.

Admission to Sweeney Field is free. Parking at Sweeney Field is $10, cash only.

The Hobart-Bryant game will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7) and webcast on NEC Front Row and ESPN+.

The No. 3 seed, Hobart is 6-5 overall. The Statesmen are riding a four-game winning streak following a 14-7 win over Mount St. Mary's to close out the regular season. Hobart is led by three first team All-NEC selections, attackman Ryan Archer, midfielder Anthony Dattellas and long-stick midfielder Dan Ryan. Archer leads the team with 57 points on 23 goals and 34 assists. He's fourth in the nation in assists per game (3.09) and had a career-high six helpers when the Statesmen and Bulldogs met during the regular season. Dattellas contributed 16 goals and eight assists, but missed the Bryant game due to injury. Ryan has recorded 20 ground balls and a team-high 11 caused turnovers, including four in the win over the Mountaineers.

The No. 2 seed, Bryant is 8-6 overall. The Bulldogs also have three first team All-NEC picks, attackman Marc O'Rourke, midfielder Aidan Goltz and defenseman Brody Rule. O'Rourke has 61 points on 43 goals and 18 assists. He had two goals and an assist against Hobart back in March. Goltz has chipped in 17 goals and three assists. Rule adds 20 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.

The game will be the 16th all-time meeting between Hobart and Bryant. The Bulldogs lead the series 9-6, including a 14-11 win on Boswell Field on March 26. It will be the sixth time the team have faced off in the NEC Tournament.
