9/16/2022 4:38:00 PM

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College football team will host St. John Fisher University on Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff on Boswell Field at Urick Stadium is set for 1 p.m.

Fans can follow the action online with HWS All-Access video and Live Stats. Over the airwaves, the game will be broadcast live on WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3 in Geneva).

Hobart (1-1) aims to rebound from a 24-13 loss at Morrisville State last week. The Statesmen outgained the Mustangs 349-167, but gave up 17 points off turnovers, including two fumble returns for touchdowns.

Through two games, Hobart's defense ranks 15th in the nation in total defense. The Statesmen are allowing just 188.0 yards per game. Sophomore linebacker Anthony Romano leads the team with 17 tackles, 11 solo tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks.

The Cardinals are also looking to bounce back from a loss last week. St. John Fisher was on the short end of a 31-20 decision at Framingham State.

Saturday's game will be the 21st in a series that dates back to 1990. Hobart won that first meeting 21-14 in Geneva. The Statesmen lead the series 13-7, including a 7-3 edge on Boswell Field. Hobart also won the most recent meeting, 42-21 in Pittsford last season, behind 100-yard rushing games by Rayshawn Boswell and Tim Denham Jr.
