BOSTON, Mass.—The William Smith College hockey team defeated UMass Boston 2-0 in a New England Hockey Conference game at the Edward T. Barry Ice Arena this afternoon. With the win, the Herons are now 9-9-1 overall this season with a 7-6-0 mark in conference play.
Sophomore
Kayla Ketchabaw (1g, 1a) and Senior
Emma Faso (2a) led the way for William Smith with two points each.
Erin Murray made 16 saves in the first 40 minutes of action. Junior
Annie Hauser made five saves in the final 20 minutes. Lea Bosch made 19 saves in goal for UMass Boston.

- William Smith was 1-for-3 on the power play and UMass Boston was 0-for-4 with the extra attacker.
GAME MOMENTS
- William Smith opened the scoring at the 15:38 mark of the first period. Ketchabaw picked up a loose puck along the goal line and flipped a shot into the upper right corner of the cage. Her eighth goal of the season was assisted by Faso.
- Annabel Ziskin fired a shot from the slot past Bosch for her second goal of the season. Ketchabaw and Faso were awarded assists on the power-play tally.
- William Smith hit a pair of posts in the game. Faso fired a shot off of the right goalpost in the first period and Mia LaPlante hit a pipe in the second stanza.
