GENEVA, N.Y.—The second-ranked Hobart College hockey team scored five unanswered goals as it knocked off Johnson & Wales University 5-1 in a New England Hockey Conference contest at The Cooler this evening. With the win, the Statesmen are 19-2-0 overall and 12-2-0 in conference play.

Luke Aquaro led Hobart with three assists in the victory. Junior

Tanner Hartman each scored a pair of goals. First-year
Graham Burke made his collegiate debut, stopping 13 of the 14 shots he faced. Jake Perrin made 60 saves in goal for Johnson & Wales (2-18-1, 1-12-0).

- Hobart finished the game with a 65-14 advantage in shots on goal. The Statesmen took control of the game in the middle frame, outshooting the Wildcats 30-7.

SCORING SUMMARY
- The Wildcats opened the scoring at the 1:14 mark of the period. Hayden Haldane flipped a shot from the low slot past Burke for his sixth goal of the season. The power-play goal was assisted by Brendan Doyle and Aaron Garrison.
- The Statesmen tied the game at the 18:22 mark of the opening frame. Alexander chipped a shot over the right leg of Perrin for his 10th goal of the season. Aquaro and Cooper Swift were awarded assists on the goal.
- Hartman scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal just past the six-minute mark of the second period. He took the puck off the wall, spun in the left faceoff circle and wristed a shot over the right shoulder of Perrin for his third goal of the season.
- Two minutes later, Gagik Malakyan blasted a shot from the right faceoff circle into the back of the net. His third goal of the season was assisted by Aquaro and Austin Mourar.
- Alexander gave Hobart a 4-1 lead at the 13:11 mark of the middle frame. He ripped a shot from the slot past Perrin for his 11th goal of the season. Mourar and Aquaro were awarded assists on the goal.
- Hartman rounded out the scoring at the 6:50 mark of the third period. Malakyan's shot from the point deflected off Hartman's foot and trickled across the goal line. Ethan Mulhearn picked up the secondary assist on the goal.

Hobart will hit the road next weekend, Feb. 3-4, for a pair of games. The road trip will start Friday, Feb. 3, at Skidmore. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
