HERON STAT LEADERS
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ithaca started out hot, keeping the Herons to just eight points in the first quarter. The Bombers found early points from Lindsay Albertelli and Camryn Coffey to lead their early offensive charge.
- Down by 12, the Herons came out firing in the second to respond to the Bombers early push.
- DeVaney and sophomore Maddie Patrick combined for 15 of the Herons 19 points in the second quarter to bring William Smith within six going into the second half.
- The Herons and the Bombers would trade early points in the second half, thanks to buckets from Patrick, DeVaney, Jarvis and Fiona Horan but Ithaca responded by pushing the games tempo along with their lead.
- William Smith found late points from first-year forward's Mara Bledsoe and Faith Okoli but couldn't find their offensive rhythm to close in on the Bombers lead.
- Ithaca used the clock and strong shooting to their advantage to close out the game on top.
