Anthony Romano represented the Hobart College football team on the 2023 All-ECAC second team. The duo led the Statesmen to an 8-3 season and the program's fourth consecutive bowl bid.

Boswell appeared in all 11 games this season, leading the team in all purpose yards with 1,261. A dual threat out of the backfield, he rushed for a team-high 643 yards (4.7 yds/att) and caught a team-high 31 passes for 296 yards (9.5 yds/rec). Boswell led Hobart with 12 touchdowns, all on the ground, ranking 41st in the nation in rushing touchdowns.

Boswell rushed for a career-high 147 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Statesmen to a 27-10 win over Morrisville State on Sept. 9. That effort earned him a spot on the D3football.com National Team of the Week. He produced a season-high 240 all purpose yards in a 27-23 win at Rochester on Nov. 11. Boswell stung the Yellowjackets for 49 yards rushing, 39 receiving yards and 152 kickoff return yards.

One of the most electrifying athletes in Hobart history, Boswell holds the program's career records for kick return yards (1,339), kick returns (45), kick return touchdowns (3) and kick return average (29.76). He also ranks in the top 10 in all purpose yards (4th, 4,714), yards per carry (5th, 5.75), rushing touchdowns (5th, 37), points scored (5th, 264), touchdowns scored (5th, 44), all purpose yards per game (8th, 109.6) and touchdowns responsible for (9th, 44).

Boswell's career includes a lengthy list of accolades. He was a five-time All-Liberty League selection, including four first team honors. As a first-year, he was the team Rookie Award winner, Liberty League Rookie of the Year and D3football.com All-East third team as a return specialist. Boswell was the co-recipient of the 2021 Middleton Award, given to the team's offensive MVP.

For the second straight year, Romano led the Statesmen defense in tackles with 80. He was tied for the team lead with seven tackles for loss and third on the team with three sacks. Romano also logged two pass breakups, a forced fumble and an interception in 11 games this season.

Romano posted nine or more tackles in a game five times this year. He logged a season-high 13 stops at nationally-ranked Ithaca. Romano finished both the Keystone and Rochester games with 10 tackles. His interception and 42-yard return against Buffalo State, set up a short scoring drive in Hobart's 45-21 victory over the Bengals.

Through three seasons, Romano has appeared in 33 games, recording 189 tackles, 20 for loss and 6.5 sacks. He has four interceptions, four pass breakups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick.

Romano was voted to the All-Liberty League second team this year after earning first team recognition in 2022. He was also a 2022 D3football.com All-Region second team pick. Romano earned the team's Rookie Award in 2021 and the Toner Defensive MVP award in 2022.
