ORLANDO, Fla.— The William Smith College tennis team (2-3) played its first match of the week at the USTA national center in Orlando, Fla., against Luther College (12-6) this afternoon. The Norse defeated the Herons in a tight matchup, 4-5.

Isabelle Goings-Perrot defeated Renata Martinez and Julia Moreno, 8-5. Senior
Audrey Camacho and sophomore
Julia Pida clipped Sophia Sackett and Natalia Smith 8-7 (7-5), in the No. 2 spot.
The Norse took over the lead in singles play, winning four out of the six single matches. Levine won her second match of the day, defeating Moreno in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0, at the No. 2 position. Sophomore
Natalie Haythorn won her first collegiate singles match in thrilling fashion, defeating Montserrat Ramirez-Mainou, 3-6, 6-3, 10-3.
NEXT UP
William Smith will be back in action tomorrow, March 21, when it takes on Oglethorpe University (4-2). The match between the Herons and the Stormy Petrels is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
