ITHACA, N.Y.— The William Smith College tennis team traveled to Ithaca, New York, this afternoon for a midweek conference matchup against Ithaca College. The Herons fell 5-4 to the Bombers and fall to 6-8 overall with a 1-3 mark in conference play. The bombers move to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in the Liberty League.
Ithaca took the early lead in doubles action, taking two of three available points. Sophomore
Isabelle Goings-Perrot and first-year
Haley Levine earned the lone point for the Herons, defeating Rebecca Andrews and Zoe Davis, 8-4 at the No. 1 position.
In singles action the Herons and Bombers shared the points, each earning three wins. Goings-Perrot earned her second victory of the day, defeating Andrews in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
Senior
Audrey Camacho earned her second straight singles victory as she defeated Davis in a thrilling match at the No. 3 spot, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5. First-year
Marin Montagne continued to shine in the No. 6 spot, topping Ithaca's Caroline Herz, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3, for her third consecutive win in singles action.
Sophomore
Natalie Haythorn fell in the deciding match against Sabrina Cheung in a thrilling match at the No. 4 spot. Haythorn and Cheung split the early action, 3-6, 6-4, before Cheung topped Haythorn 7-3 in the tiebreaker.

William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, April 15, when it welcomes No. 34 Vassar College to HWS Tennis Center. First serve between the Herons and the Brewers is set for 11 a.m.
