GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College tennis team fell to No. 34 Vassar College this afternoon, 9-0, in a conference matchup at the HWS Tennis Center. The Herons fall to 6-9 overall with a 1-4 mark in conference play, while the Brewers move to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the Liberty League Conference.
The Brewers took a 3-0 lead in doubles action, earning all three available points. Sophomore
Isabelle Goings-Perrot and first-year
Haley Levine put up a good fight against Erin McCusker and Sofie Shen but were edged, 8-5. Sophomore
Julia Pida and first-year
Marin Montagne also showed strong in the No. 3 spot, but ultimately fell 8-6 to Tatum Blalock and Elyse Duley.
In singles action the Brewers secured the match, winning all six singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore
Mia Tetrault played a good match at the No. 6 spot in her second collegiate match but fell 3-6, 2-6 to Maya Thompson.

William Smith will be back in action on Tuesday, April 19, when it welcomes RIT (4-9) to the HWS Tennis Center. First serve between the Herons and the Tigers is set for 4 p.m.
