GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith Tennis team downed RIT, 8-1, in a midweek conference matchup this afternoon at the HWS Tennis Center. The Herons move to 7-9 overall with a 2-4 mark in conference play, while the Tigers fall to 4-11 overall and 1-7 in the Liberty League.
William Smith took an early lead in doubles action, earning all three available points. Sophomore

Haley Levine topped Kristen Auble and Jackie Drozd, 8-5, at the No. 1 position.
Senior
Audrey Camacho and sophomore
Natalie Haythorn defeated Abby Murray and Gabby Donahue in thrilling fashion at No. 2, 8-7 (10-5), while sophomore
Julia Pida and first-year
Marin Montagne downed Anika Galkiewicz and Devon Mills, 8-1, at the No. 3 spot.
The Herons secured the match in singles action, winning five out of the six matches. At the No. 2 spot Levine defeated Drozd in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Camacho grabbed her second point of the day as she defeated Donahue at the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1. Haythorn topped Murray, 6-0, 4-6 (10-5), at the No. 4 position while Montagne bested Galkiewicz in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 position.
Sophomore
Mia Tetrault clinched the victory for the Herons at No. 6, downing Mills, 6-1, 6-1, for her first collegiate singles win.
