William Smith College first-year
Caroline Gannon was named the Liberty League Women's Golf Rookie of the Week today by the conference office. It's the second time this season and first time this spring she has earned the award.
Â
Gannon finished tied for fifth out of 25 golfers in the Martin Division of the Martin/Wallace Invitational. At the par 72 Cortland Country Club, she shot a 91 on Saturday and moved up four spots in the standings with a closing round 87, her best 18-hole score of the season.
Â
Gannon has completed six rounds this season and is second on the team in scoring average at 91.0. She is also 2-1 in match play events. Gannon earned her first Liberty League Rookie of the Week award after winning 9 and 8 in her first collegiate match play against Keuka College back in September.
Â
William Smith will be back in action April 29-30 when the Herons compete in the Liberty League Championships at the Edison Club in Rexford, New York.
