PENN YAN, N.Y.—Led by senior Caroline Gannon's top 5 finish, the William Smith golf team wrapped up the fall portion of its schedule with a third place finish in the Keuka Fall Invitational at Lakeside Country Club today.
 
Gannon shot an 86 on the par 72 layout, six shots off the lead and just one shot out of second place. She was also one shot off of her career best round. First-year Maggie McCarthy carded her low round of the season, finishing 13th out of 23 golfers. Classmate Samantha Murray also earned a top 20 finish, tying for 16th place.
 
Nazareth's Bethany Wineburg was the individual medalist, posting an 80. The Golden Flyers took the team title by 20 shots over second place Utica. William Smith was 32 shots behind the Pioneers and 46 shots ahead of fourth place Keuka.
