GENEVA, N.Y. – The William Smith College tennis team played its first official match of the season today against Daemen University at Bristol Field House. The Wildcats defeated the Herons in a tight match up, 5-4. William Smith is now 0-1, while Daemen moves to 2-0.

Jamie Fine earned the points for the Herons as they defeated Carly Armitage and Yinett Del Leon at the No. 2 spot, 8-5.
In singles action, the teams split the points 3-3. First-year
Mae Kellersman defeated Del Leon in straight sets at the No. 3 spot, 7-5, 6-2, while Fine won her second match of the day at the No. 5 spot by beating Arianna Lysiak, 6-1, 6-2.
At No. 6, Buck also won her second match of the day in an exciting match against Emily Jablonski, 4-6, 6-4, 10-1.
