GENEVA, N.Y—The Hobart soccer team scored twice in the first half as it knocked off Union 2-0 in a Liberty League contest on Cozzens Field this afternoon. Today's win was the Statesmen's third straight victory and third straight shutout.

Thomas Chyzowych stopped all five shots he faced as he earned his fifth shutout of the season.
Jackson Magee played all 90 minutes in goal for Union and made two saves.

MATCH MOMENTS
- Hobart opened the scoring on the game's first shot. In the 11th minute, Slayton collected a crossing pass from senior Griffin Patterson and fired a shot into the lower right corner of the cage. It was his second goal of the season. Sophomore Keegan Mulroony also had an assist on the goal.
- One minute later, Union nearly tied the game, but Eamonn Kelly had a shot turned aside by Chyzowych. His rebound attempt was blocked by Chyzowych.
- Outerbridge had a chance to extend Hobart's lead in the 13th minute, but his shot just trickled wide left.
- The Statesmen took a 2-0 lead in the 36th minute. Outerbridge headed home a shot from inside the six-yard box for his team-leading fourth goal of the season. Senior Brian Sheehan and first-year Griffin Coutts were awarded assists on the goal.
- In the second half, Union out shot Hobart 10-6 but was unable to sneak a shot past Chyzowych.
- In the 75th minute, Wyatt Goldfisher had a shot smothered by Chyzowych.
- In the 80th minute, Chyzowych made a kick save on a shot from Alexander Vittal. The rebound fell on the foot of Declan Crowley, who fired a shot off of the crossbar.

"It was a huge weekend for us adding three points today against a very good Union team," Head Coach
Shawn Griffin said. "A six point weekend in the Liberty League is a difficult task for any team. We have to now focus our attention toward a very good Bard side next Tuesday.

Hobart will be back in action next Saturday, Oct. 26, when it heads to Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, to take on Bard. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
