Hobart first-year guard Monty Nedd was named the Liberty League Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week by the conference office this afternoon.

On Saturday, Nedd scored a team-high 15 points in a 65-59 loss at York (Pa.). He was 4-of-7 shooting from the floor with a 3-pointer and added six more points from the free throw line. Additionally, Nedd recorded a game-high five steals and shared game-high honors with three assists. He's the first first-year to lead Hobart in scoring in the season opener since 2017 when Dan Masino '21 scored 19 points against St. John Fisher.

The Statesmen will welcome St. John Fisher (1-1) to Bristol Gym at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13 for their home opener.
