GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart senior forward
Shane Shell scored twice in the second period as the top-ranked Statesmen cruised to a 6-2 victory over UMass Boston in a New England Hockey Conference contest at The Cooler this afternoon. With the win, Hobart is now 6-0-0 to start the season with a 4-0-0 mark in league play.

Mavrick Goyer played all 60 minutes in goal he made 22 saves.
Six different skaters recorded a point for the Beacons (0-5-0, 0-4-0). Tyler Bost started in goal for UMass Boston and made 36 saves. Sal Carabelii played the final 20 minutes and stopped 17 shots.

- With tonight's win, the Statesmen extended their winning streak to 41 straight games at The Cooler.
- Dating back to last season, Hobart has won 20 straight games. It is the seventh-longest streak in NCAA Division III.
- The Statesmen are unbeaten in their last 31 contests, tied for fourth in Division III.

SCORING SUMMARY
- Hobart opened the scoring at the 9:05 mark of the first period. Junior Tanner Daniels wristed a shot from the top of the right faceoff circle past Bost for his sixth goal of the season. The power-play goal was assisted by Aquaro and Swift.
- Shell extended the Statesmen's lead to two goals at the 10:01 mark of the second period. He collected a pass from Daniels and slipped a shot past Bost for his first goal of the season. Sophomore Connor Lally also had an assist on the goal.
- Thirty seconds later, junior Kahlil Fontana pocketed his fourth goal of the season. He picked up a rebound and stuffed a shot past Bost. It was assisted by Elliot and junior Ignat Belov.
- At the 14:39 mark of the middle stanza, Shell notched his second goal of the game. He picked up a loose puck and flipped it over the goalie. Shell's second goal of the season was assisted by senior Matthew Perryman and Elliot.
- Senior Ethan Mulhearn made it 5-0 with less than three minutes remaining in the period. He backhanded a shot past Bost for his first goal of the season. Sophomore Brandon Sacchetti and Bauer Morrissey were awarded assists.
- The Beacons broke up the shutout bid four minutes into the third period. Koyle Bankauskas wristed a shot from the slot past Goyer. His first goal of the season was assisted by Chris Pepmann and Jazz Krivstov.
- Jack Mortson added a goal at the 8:33 mark of the third period. He stuffed home a loose puck for his second goal of the season. It was assisted by Jakop Teply and Evan Googins.
- Aquaro wrapped up the scoring with his fourth goal of the year. He redirected a shot from Swift past Carabelli. Graduate student Austin Mourar also had an assist on the goal.
CLIMBING THE LADDER
- With three points this weekend, Aquaro now has 106 points for his career. He is ninth on Hobart's all-time list, five behind Craig Levey '05.
- His 58 goals are tied with Dana Angelo '90 for fifth.
