GENESEO, N.Y.—Sophomore Amelia McCulley led the William Smith basketball team with a career-high 24 points as the Herons dropped a nonconference matchup on the road to SUNY Geneseo 67-51. William Smith falls to 0-2 on the season, while the Knights move to 3-2 with the win.
McCulley was 10-of-17 from the floor, including four-of-nine from the 3-point arc to lead the Herons in the loss. She added two blocked shots, two steals and one offensive rebound for William Smith. Classmate Ava Lobozzo joined McCulley in double-digits with a season-high 10 points and four rebounds. Senior Molly Walsh and first-year Jojo Sulmasy contributed key minutes for the Herons and combined for 10 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and one steal.
Geneseo was led by the duo of Kristin Suydam and Kiley Snow who dropped 16 and 15 points, respectively. The duo combined for eight rebounds, three steals and one block. Grace Galgano grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds for the Knights.

- Geneseo held a 48-34 advantage in rebounding, including a 15-9 edge on the offensive boards.
- The Knights forced seven steals compared to the Herons' three, but William Smith held a 3-2 advantage in blocked shots in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo shot out to an early 7-0 run to give the Knights an early lead before a three-pointer from sophomore Miranda Martin halted the Geneseo streak.
- The Knights closed out the opening quarter with a 13-3 run to maintain a 12-point lead heading into the second quarter.
- The Herons continued to fight back in the second and found crucial points from Lobozzo and McCulley to bring William Smith within 11 before Geneseo grabbed the late momentum and extended their lead to 19 with five late points from Snow.
- The Knights maintained their lead throughout the third quarter as it used its balanced attack and sharp free throw shooting to keep the lead.
- Geneseo extended its lead to as much as 25 points before William Smith responded with a 10-1 run to end the game. McCulley and Sulmasy scored five points each to end the game, including McCulley's fourth three pointer of the day.
- The Knights closed out the nonconference matchup with a 67-51 win to move to 3-2 on the season.
