Sheehan tabbed Academic All-District

Hobart soccer junior defender Brian Sheehan was named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Team selected by College Sports Communicators today. He is the 11th Statesman to receive Academic All-District recognition.
 
An economics major, Sheehan started all 14 games he played in this season. He had an assist in Hobart's win over Union. Sheehan has started 34 of the 44 career games he has played at Hobart, recording 12 points on four goals and four assists.
 
Hobart finished the year with a 5-6-6 overall record. The Statesmen went 4-2-3 in Liberty League play, finishing fourth in the conference standings. The Statesmen were edged by RIT in the opening round of the Liberty League tournament.
 
The 2024 Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. A select group of student-atheltes advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot where CSC members vote on Academic All-America teams. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. Athletically, student-athletes must either appear in 90 percent of their team's games or start 66 percent of them.
