The William Smith basketball team will continue its four-game homestand with a nonconference showdown with the University of Rochester Tuesday, Nov. 26. Tipoff between the Herons and the Yellowjackets is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Bristol Gymnasium.
Fans who can't make it to Geneva can follow the game with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will also be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).
Additionally, two members of the William Smith basketball team were recognized by the Liberty League after two strong performances last week. First-year Jojo Sulmasy was named the conference's rookie of the week, while sophomore Amelia McCulley was named to the weekly honor roll.
Sulmasy led the Herons last week, tallying22 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists. She recorded her first career double-double against Brockport on a career-high 17 points and 12 rebounds. Sulmasy ranks eighth in the conference in rebounding, grabbing 7.3 per game. She also ranks 15th in the Liberty League in assists, dishing out 2.3 per game. Sulmasy ranks 23rd in the conference in scoring, averaging 9.0 points per game.
McCulley continued her solid start to the season and combined for 36 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks in two games last week. She dropped a career-high 24 points against Geneseo. McCulley ranks second in the conference in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game. She also ranks second in the Liberty League in field goal percentage (51.2%), third in minutes (35.0), fifth in blocked shots (1.7 pg) and 19th in steals (1.3 pg).
ABOUT THE HERONS
- William Smith is 0-3 to start the season and is looking to bounce back after a 76-62 loss to SUNY Brockport on Saturday.
- McCulley leads the team in scoring and ranks second in the conference, averaging 18.3 points per game. She is followed by senior Molly Walsh with 9.3 ppg and Sulmasy with 9.0 ppg.
- Sulmasy averages a team-leading 7.3 rebounds per game and is followed by first-year teammates Anne Keneally and Bridget McCleary with 4.3 rpg each.
- Keneally and sophomore Giana Lobozzo share the team lead with 2.0 steals per game. McCulley and Walsh follow close behind with 1.3 steals per game each.
- McCulley averages 1.7 blocks per game which ranks fifth in the Liberty League. She is followed by sophomore Charlotte Miller with 1.0 blocks per game.
- Walsh dishes out a team-leading 3.3 assists per game and is followed by Sulmasy with 2.3 per game.

- Rochester is 3-3 to start the season and is coming off an 87-78 loss to Nazareth on Saturday.
- Abby Gress leads the Yellowjackets in scoring, averaging 18.0 points per game. She is followed by Tia Poulakidas with 9.0 ppg.
- Gress averages a team-leading 8.8 rebounds per game and is followed by Poulakidas and Raquel Williams with 4.5 rpg each.
- Gress and Erin Lillis share the team lead in steals, averaging 1.3 per game each. Gress also leads the team in assists, averaging 3.0 per game.
- Deniz Alparslan averages a team-leading 0.7 blocks per game.

- This will be the 56th matchup between William Smith and Rochester. The Yellowjackets lead the series 43-12, including a 17-7 edge in Geneva.
