GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart lacrosse team returns to Boswell Field at Urick Stadium to host the Le Moyne Dolphins for a noon faceoff Saturday, March 16. The game will mark the first meeting between the two Central New York lacrosse programs.
The game will be webcast live on HWS All-Access with Live Stats available on HWSAthletics.com. It will be broadcast on WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3 in Geneva).
Hobart (2-4) is looking to bounce back from a 14-10 loss at Albany last Saturday. Senior
Anthony Dattellas led the Statesmen offense with five points, including the 100th of his career. Sophomore goalie
Elhanan Wilson made a career-high 18 saves on the defensive end of the field.
Le Moyne (2-3) is coming off a 10-6 win at Mercer on Sunday. Junior Ethan Loun led the Dolphins with two goals and two assists, while first-year goalie Carter Ruhm made 12 stops to earn the win.
SCOUTING HOBART
- Home field has been an advantage to the Statesmen. Hobart is 2-1 at home this season and is 16-7 in Geneva since the start of the 2020 season.
- Hobart is fourth in the nation and first in the A10 in faceoff percentage, winning 61.4% of the time. First-year Mike Valent and graduate student Adam Shea are first and second in the A10, respectively. Valent has won 66.1% and boasts 24 ground balls. Shea has a .589 winning percentage with a team-high 37 ground balls.
- Junior Will Delano enters the game fourth in the nation in extra-man goals. The A10 leader has scored four times with the man advantage. As a team, the Statesmen are 8-for-24 when man up.
- Dattellas is one of four Hobart players with double digit points this season. He leads the team with 12 goals and eight assists for 20 points.
SCOUTING LE MOYNE
- The Dolphins are in their first season in Division I. In addition to the win over the Bears, Le Moyne opened the season with a 17-6 victory at Wagner.
- Senior Joey Pezzimenti leads the offense with 16 points on six goals and a team-high 10 assists.
- Loun has a team-high nine goals to go with three assists.
- Ruhm has made double-digit saves in all but one of his five appearances this season. He sports a 2-3 record with a .524 save percentage and a 10.62 GAA.
