GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith tennis team opened conference play this afternoon against No. 33 Vassar in Bristol Field House. The Herons fell 9-0 to the Brewers and fall to 2-6 overall while Vassar moves to 6-3 on the season.

Haley Levine and junior
Isabelle Goings-Perrot put up a fight in the No. 1 doubles spot but ultimately fell 8-5 to Erin McCusker and Macey Dowd. Junior
Julia Pida and sophomore
Maddy Buck fell to Ananya Krishnan and Elyse Duley 8-3 in the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, the Brewers took all six available points. Levine fell in the No. 1 spot 6-3, 6-2, to the No. 14 ranked singles player in the nation, Erin McCusker. Haythorn had the closest match of the day in the No. 3 spot, falling to Iris Li, 6-4, 6-3. Sophomore
Marin Montagne fell 6-3, 6-1, to Duley in the No. 6 position and is now 3-2 on the season.
