The William Smith tennis team will host Nazareth on Wednesday, March 27, in a midweek nonconference matchup. First serve between the Herons and the Golden Flyers is set for 4 p.m. at the HWS Tennis Center.

William Smith (2-6) looks to rebound from a loss to No. 33 Vassar on Saturday to open conference play.

Nazareth brings a 5-8 record to Geneva and is coming off a loss to Frostburg State on Thursday. 

ABOUT THE HERONS 

• Sophomore Marin Montagne leads the Herons in singles play and is 3-2 in dual matches. Classmate Maddy Buck is 2-0 from the No. 6 spot.
• Junior Natalie Haythorn has chipped in a 3-5 record in dual matches and is 2-2 at the No. 2 spot.
• Sophomore Haley Levine and junior Isabelle Goings-Perrot are 3-3 in the No. 1 doubles position.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN FLYERS

• Catherine Zak is 6-7 in the No. 1 singles position, while Kenna Ellis is 6-7 at the No. 2 spot.
• Victoria Cioni leads the team with a 5-2 record in dual matches and is 3-1 at the No. 5 spot.
• Zak and Ellis are 7-6 in the No. 1 doubles position this season.

SERIES HISTORY

• This will be the 26th meeting between William Smith and Nazareth.
• The Herons hold a 24-1 edge in the series, including a 16-1 advantage in Geneva.
• Last time they met, William Smith swept Nazareth 9-0 in Bristol Field House. Goings-Perrot, Haythorn, and Montagne all won in both singles and doubles play in the victory.
