GENEVA, N.Y. – The No. 34 ranked Hobart tennis team fell 6-3 to regional foe, No. 36 TCNJ this afternoon in Bristol Field House. The Statesmen fall to 0-3 on the season while the Lions remain undefeated and move to 6-0.
TCNJ swept the doubles action this afternoon despite Hobart's strong efforts. Sophomores
Aidan Staunton and
Jose Martinez Barelles posted the closest doubles match of the day as they fell 8-5 to Brett Schuster and Alberto Thomas in the No. 3 position.
The Statesmen earned all three of its points within singles play. First-year
Achilleas Kousaridis grabbed the first point of the day for Hobart as he defeated Dorian Makarski, 6-2, 6-1, in the No. 5 spot. Kousaridis is now 2-0 in the No. 5 spot this season.
Sophomore
Nick Fischer defeated Adrian Tsui in the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 6-3, for his first dual match victory of the season. Junior
Hyat Oyer earned a dramatic victory in the No. 3 position, defeating Aayush Kishore, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4. Oyer is now 1-2 in dual matches this season.
Senior
Sean Pesin took on 13th-ranked Matthew Michibata in the No. 1 singles position, forcing a thrilling third set. Despite coming from behind in the second set, Pesin fell to Michibata, 3-6, 6-4, 1-6. Michibata's win clinched the victory for the Lions.

Hobart will be back in action Saturday, March 16, when it takes on Hamilton College in Orlando, Florida. First serve between the Statesmen and the Continentals is set for noon.
