SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The William Smith tennis team fell 9-0 to No. 43 Skidmore this afternoon in a Liberty League matchup at the Wilton YMCA. The Herons fall to 4-8 on the season while the Thoroughbreds move to 5-3 overall.
Skidmore defeated William Smith in all three doubles matches to open the action. Juniors
Natalie Haythorn and
Julia Pida posted the closest match of doubles play, falling to Ella Provost and Katie Wong 8-3 in the No. 2 spot.
The Herons tried to fight back in singles play but were matched by a strong Thoroughbred squad that took all six available points. Haythorn fell in the tightest match of the day. She falls to 4-7 in dual matches this season after falling to Wong 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 3 spot.
Sophomore
Haley Levine fell to Konika Dhull 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot, while junior
Isabelle Goings-Perrot fell in the No. 2 spot to Grace Truong 6-1, 6-1.
