GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart soccer team was edged by 22nd-ranked Rochester 1-0 in a non-conference contest on Cozzens Field this afternoon.
Junior
Thomas Chyzowych played all 90 minutes in goal for Hobart and made a season-high five saves.
Tyler Moran had the goal for the Yellowjackets. Santino Lupica-Tondo played all 90 minutes in goal for Rochester and made seven saves.

- With the win, Rochester is now 3-1-1 on the season.
- Hobart falls to 0-3-2 on the year.

- Hobart finished the game with a 15-9 advantage in shots, including a 7-6 edge in shots on goal.

MATCH MOMENTS
- Senior Luke Ryan had the game's first scoring chance in the sixth minute. His shot from just outside the 18-yard box was stopped by Lupica-Tondo.
- In the 10th minute, Chyzowych made a diving stop on a shot from Mikey Burke.
- Sophomore La Zai Outerbridge and Keegan Mulroony had opportunities to score in the 17th minute, but Outerbridge's shot was blocked and Mulroony's attempt was smothered by the Rochester goalie.
- The Yellowjackets opened the scoring mere seconds into the second half. Moran launched the opening kick over Chyzowych and into the net. It was his first goal of the season.
- Senior Frederick Madsen appeared to tie the game in the 65th minute, but the goal was waved off for a foul call.
- Hobart continued to up the pressure in the closing stages of the second half, but could not sneak a shot past the Rochester goalie. In the 78th minute, first-year Griffin Coutts had a shot turned aside by a diving Lupica-Tonda.
- In the 89th minute, Kamal Ibrahim had a chance to give Rochester a two-goal lead, but Chyzowych stopped his penalty kick attempt.

Hobart will head back on the road on Friday, Sept. 20, when it opens Liberty League play. The Statesmen will head to Rochester to take on RIT. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
